When heading to EPCOT, most guests expect to explore international pavilions or ride high-speed attractions. However, the real magic is hidden near the entrance to Mission: SPACE. That is exactly where Space 220 is located — a restaurant that offers dining on an orbital station 220 miles above the surface of our planet. I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant, and I can confidently say: it is not just an atmospheric location, but also a true culinary adventure.

This post will help you understand the pricing, menu, and reservation tips to make your visit as smooth as possible.

The Space Elevator and a View of Earth

The journey begins with a special elevator called the Stellarvator. As you ascend, you watch through a transparent floor as Florida becomes a tiny dot, while the Centauri space station approaches above you.

Inside the dining room, you are greeted by a massive panoramic view of Earth. Astronauts float past the windows, and satellites slowly orbit against a backdrop of stars. The experience is mesmerizing from the first to the last minute, creating a complete illusion of space travel.

Practical Guide: Prices and Menu

Space 220 operates on a prix-fixe system, so you know the base cost of your visit in advance.

  • Lunch: Costs $55 for adults and includes two courses — an appetizer (Lift-Offs) and an entrée (Star Course).
  • Dinner: Costs $79 for adults. It also includes a dessert (Supernova Sweets).
  • Kids Menu: Costs $29 for lunch and $35 for dinner (for children ages 3 to 9).

The menu at Space 220 is quite diverse — you can find dishes for both fans of classic cuisine and those who want to try something more unusual.

That said, I will admit that I did not fully embrace the “alien cuisine” experience. While some menu items sound like they belong on another planet, I played it safe. I ordered the Andromeda Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, which, despite its futuristic name, turned out to be a fairly classic dish. It was beautifully presented and well executed, but nothing overly experimental — a comfortable choice if you are not quite ready to explore the more adventurous side of the menu.

I also tried the Interstellar Steak, and I would not call it an experiment either. The meat was cooked perfectly and was very juicy.

Drinks are another highlight of the restaurant. I recommend the Lightyear Lemonade cocktail — this is where the real experiment begins — which glows in the dark thanks to a special ice cube. For children, there is an equally impressive selection of non-alcoholic drinks with playful presentations.

If you want to enhance your experience, keep an eye on seasonal updates — sometimes the menu includes special “space-themed” desserts, such as a chocolate Galaxy Layer Cake with edible silver spheres.

Tip: Drinks such as smoky cocktails or glowing beverages are charged separately.

Space 220 Lounge vs. Main Restaurant

Getting a reservation at Space 220 can be difficult — it often feels like tables are booked more than 30 days in advance. If you were unable to secure a reservation or simply do not want to pay for the full prix-fixe menu, choose the Space 220 Lounge.

This is a bar-style area with comfortable seating that is much easier to access. The most interesting part is that the Lounge allows you to experience the full “space” atmosphere without the requirement of a fixed menu. Here, you can try unique cocktails, order individual appetizers (such as the same Wagyu Carpaccio or Galactic Salmon in smaller portions), and avoid committing to a full-course set. Open spots often appear 10–15 minutes before opening — simply approach the host stand and ask.

Another advantage is that in the Lounge, you can not only have a quick bite but also spend more time near the windows. If you want to capture an atmospheric photo with a view of Earth and a drink in hand, the Lounge is your best option. This area tends to attract fans of “space-themed” cocktails, and bartenders are happy to recommend current seasonal specials.

For groups, this is an ideal option — you can order multiple dishes and share them, rather than paying for a full set menu for each person.

Comparison with Other Disney Restaurants

Walt Disney World offers an impressive number of great restaurants, but each one has its own unique feature. At Coral Reef Restaurant, the highlight is a massive aquarium with reef sharks and stingrays right behind your table. Be Our Guest is a fairytale experience: grand chandeliers, a true ballroom setting with falling snow outside the windows, and a themed French prix-fixe menu. At Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater, meals are served in car-shaped seating while you watch black-and-white films during lunch.

However, Space 220 operates in a completely different league. It is the first Disney restaurant with such a massive full-dome space “view,” a simulated journey experience, and a concept that is not replicated anywhere else. The feeling of traveling to orbit and dining with a view of Earth is truly unique, even by Disney standards. If you enjoy technology and immersive environments, this restaurant will definitely become a highlight on your list.

How to Save: Discounts and CityPASS

A trip to Orlando requires careful budget planning. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders receive a nice bonus — a 10% discount on dining at Space 220 (for example, dinner for two would cost approximately $142 instead of $158). Some U.S. credit cards also offer 3–5% cashback at Disney restaurants — be sure to check your benefits.

CityPASS for Orlando can help you save on tickets to major parks. You pay around $149 instead of over $250 for individual tickets — saving up to $100 per person if you plan to visit Universal Studios, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, and several other attractions. By optimizing your entertainment budget, it becomes easier to allocate funds for a unique space-themed dining experience among the stars.

Your Ticket to the Stars

In addition to fantastic food and incredible views, Space 220 offers guests a few extra “space-themed” perks. At the entrance, younger visitors are often given souvenir Astronaut Trading Cards — featuring interesting space facts and even small activities. For true food enthusiasts, there is also a unique opportunity to order a tasting menu (available for dinner only), allowing you to try several signature dishes at once. The staff is always open to conversation — they are happy to share details about the dishes and suggest the best angles for photos “in orbit.”

Attention to detail leaves a lasting impression: even the napkins and utensils follow a futuristic design, while nearby screens occasionally display a “weather forecast” for other planets in our solar system. Do not forget to visit the gift shop on your way out — you can find exclusive Space 220 merchandise that is not available elsewhere in Walt Disney World.

Visiting Space 220 completely changes the perception of what a themed restaurant can be. Plan your visit in advance, take advantage of the Lounge option, and get ready for a truly out-of-this-world experience. Enjoy your flight!
