The Future of Train Travel: My Unforgettable Premium Journey with Brightline

Things to Do in FloridaBrightline Premium travel review
Florida travel upgraded with Brightline Premium — a faster, more comfortable way to move between cities.

Traveling around Florida is often associated with traffic on I-95 and the fatigue of long drives. However, the situation is now changing dramatically thanks to Brightline. It feels like the first private intercity passenger rail company in the United States that offers a completely new approach to transportation, and I am convinced of that! This is not just a way to get from point A to point B. It is a full experience that can make your vacation or business trip comfortable even before you step onto the train.

Recently, we decided to test this service for ourselves. By the way, if you are a frequent traveler, take a look at Brightline Passes — special packages that allow you to travel for less than $9 per ride. This is a great option for those who value flexibility and savings.

We chose the West Palm Beach to Orlando route and booked Premium class tickets. The train covers the distance between these cities in about two hours and fifteen minutes, which is significantly faster and more enjoyable than driving. It is also worth paying attention to parking: in South Florida, you can add parking to your Brightline ticket at a discounted rate starting from $12 per day when booked in advance (the standard walk-up rate starts from $20 per day). For frequent travelers, there is a monthly parking pass starting from $89 per month, with an additional 5% savings when set to auto-renew — this gives you unlimited access to your selected garage with your pass.

In Orlando, passengers can begin their trip by leaving their car at one of three surface parking lots near the station or at Parking Garage C near Orlando International Airport. In addition, there is off-site parking from WallyPark — prices start from $10 per day, which is very convenient for travelers.

From the first minutes at the station, it became clear that this format of transportation is setting new standards for the entire country.

It’s amazing! Every detail is thoughtfully designed, from the ticket purchase process to arriving at your final destination. I am impressed with the service. In this article, I will walk you through every stage of our journey, share impressions of the exclusive lounge, and show why this trip feels similar to flying business class with a premium airline.

First Impression: A New-Generation Station

From the outside, the Brightline station looks extremely modern. You immediately notice the extensive use of glass, clean geometric lines, and the recognizable yellow logo. The building feels more like a new airport or a high-end business center than a traditional train station.

Inside, everything is built in a very logical and intuitive way. Large digital screens display departures and arrivals. Navigating here is much easier than at most traditional stations. Nearby are ticket machines where the entire booking process takes just a few minutes.

For those who need assistance, there is a dedicated area with ticket counters and guest services. You can quickly resolve any issues here. Everything looks very clean, designed in a minimalist style, and operates without unnecessary fuss. The staff serve passengers efficiently, so there are almost no lines. I did not stand in line at all.

Before boarding, you pass through automated gates. They work the same way as in modern subway systems or airports. You simply scan your ticket in the app or on paper, and then enter a spacious waiting area with large panoramic windows.

Inside the station, there is a great bar called Mary Mary. This is not just a regular coffee spot, but a full bar with craft cocktails where you can enjoy your time before departure.

Next to it, there is also a small market. It offers snacks, drinks, and basic travel essentials that you might need on your journey.

The general waiting area pleasantly surprised us with its level of comfort. There is plenty of natural light, comfortable sofas, and neat tables with power outlets. You can easily sit down with a laptop to work or simply relax while enjoying the city views through large windows.

Exclusive Experience at the Brightline Premium Lounge

For Premium class passengers, the journey begins with access to a private lounge. It looks exactly how you would expect from a modern American travel experience. The space is very clean, thoughtfully designed, and completely free of chaos.

The lounge itself is done in a minimalist style with comfortable soft chairs and small tables. I noticed power outlets near every seat, and plenty of natural light coming through panoramic windows, which makes the space even more pleasant. There is also a TV area for relaxing. Overall, the atmosphere feels more like a private airport club than a waiting room.

The food area is organized as a self-serve buffet. The selection is impressive in terms of quality. You will find hot dishes such as meatballs in tomato sauce and fresh breadsticks.

There are also light options like caprese salad and vegetable platters. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy popcorn, gummy candies, and chocolate. Everything is presented compactly, looks neat, and is constantly refreshed.

A standout feature is the beverage station. There is a refrigerator stocked with classic soft drinks such as Pepsi, Sprite, and Schweppes.

But what really draws attention is the “adult” option. You can use automated taps for wine or beer with touch controls. It instantly creates the feeling that your vacation has already begun.

It is also clear that the company is building its own ecosystem. Even in the lounge, there is useful information about their loyalty program. Passengers can learn about earning points, upgrades, and exclusive discounts for future trips.

Boarding and First Look at the Train

When it is time to board, the process is very well organized. There is no chaos or crowding. People calmly head to their platform following the signs. Everything is intuitive and efficient. The train itself looks very stylish. Its black exterior with bright yellow accents makes it instantly recognizable. This is far from a traditional train — it feels much closer to a premium European high-speed rail experience.

On the platform, the cars look even more premium. The ones marked Premium Service stand out in particular. They immediately set the tone for a comfortable journey.

Comfort and Service Onboard: First-Class Level

Inside the Premium car, you immediately notice a completely different level of service. Spacious 21-inch leather seats provide maximum comfort. A staff member regularly walks through the aisle with a service cart offering snacks and drinks. The best part is that everything is already included in your ticket. You do not need to purchase anything during the trip.

Arrival in Orlando: Smooth and Stress-Free

The journey flies by, even for a child. After arriving at the new Orlando station, which opened in September 2023, everything remains just as well organized. Passengers are guided by clear signage directing them to exits. It is very easy to find taxis, rideshare services, or public transportation. The flow of people moves quickly without congestion.

There is also a dedicated baggage area where you can drop off or collect your luggage without complications. The process is similar to an airport baggage carousel, but everything is faster and simpler. You pick up your bags and immediately continue your journey.

Why Choose Brightline

Train travel in Florida has become a real pleasure for me. Choosing a modern train over driving saves time, reduces stress, and allows you to enjoy the scenery. The Premium service fully justifies its price with complimentary drinks, quality meals, and lounge access.

It is worth noting the difference between ticket types: SMART (a comfortable business-class style option) and PREMIUM (first-class with additional perks). Premium tickets are typically about twice as expensive as Smart, as you receive maximum comfort, including priority boarding, lounge access, and complimentary food and drinks. Ticket prices start from $21 per passenger, but during peak dates or depending on booking time, they can be higher. For example, I booked my West Palm Beach to Orlando trip for $114 per person in Premium class — a price that is justified for those who value comfort and high-level service.

If you are planning a trip between these cities, be sure to download the official app for easy ticket management. This rail line proves that ground transportation in the United States can be fast, reliable, and genuinely luxurious.

Plan Your Orlando Trip: Smart Ways to Save

Once you arrive in Orlando, it makes sense to plan the rest of your trip just as efficiently as your journey with Brightline.

Platforms like Expedia make this process surprisingly simple. You can book hotels, flights, and full vacation packages in one place — which often helps save both time and money. If you’re planning a spontaneous trip, there are last-minute deals with up to 20% off city stays. Prefer to plan ahead? Early bookings can unlock 15%+ savings on top hotels and vacation homes. There are also package deals where you can bundle your hotel and flight — sometimes saving significantly, with certain offers covering up to 100% of the flight cost.

Once your stay is sorted, it’s worth looking at what to actually do in the city. This is where Groupon comes in as a useful addition. The platform focuses on experiences — from local attractions and activities to dining and wellness. Seasonal deals often offer up to 30% off with codes like SPRING, while local experiences can reach up to 50% savings with codes such as FUN.

Together, these tools help turn a simple train ride into a well-planned and cost-effective Florida trip — without spending hours searching across multiple websites.
