The story of the Chocolate Train began in 2003. It was a joint project of the railway company GoldenPass Services and legendary Swiss brands – Gruyère cheese factory and Cailler chocolate factory. The goal was to offer tourists a unique experience that combines the beauty of the Swiss mountains with the country’s most famous products.
The train runs the route Montreux – Montbovon – Gruyère – Broc Factory and back. The journey begins in Montreux, on the shores of Lake Geneva. From here, the train sets off through picturesque vineyards and hills dotted with traditional Swiss villages.

Main stops on the route:
Montreux: The starting point, located on the shores of Lake Geneva.
Gruyères: This is an old town, famous all over the world for its cheese of the same name. Here, tourists have the opportunity to visit the local cheese factory (La Maison du Gruyère) and the cheese factory, where they can learn about the production process and, of course, taste the cheese.
Broc-Fabrique: The final point of our route, where the Cailler chocolate factory is located. Again, here you can enjoy a full tour, walk through interactive rooms and taste unlimited chocolate.
During the journey, passengers are offered a breakfast that includes hot chocolate, croissants and coffee. All carriages are equipped with comfortable seats and large windows, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the journey.

The Chocolate Train usually runs from May to October. It is recommended to book tickets in advance, as the number of seats is limited, and this is a very popular route (ticket costs CHF 89 per adult in 2nd class and CHF 99 in 1st class or $112-$125).
