Las Vegas is often associated with neon lights, massive casinos, and endless adult entertainment. Walking down the famous Strip, it’s hard to imagine that hidden among the noise are real treasures for collectors and kids alike. My most recent trip to the city turned out to be completely different from previous ones, as this time my main companion was a ten-year-old with a very specific mission.

We didn’t come for the Bellagio fountains or a Cirque du Soleil show. Our goal was to find the popular Labubu doll, which is currently breaking popularity records thanks to viral social media videos. Our search for the best collectible toys in Las Vegas led us to the Miracle Mile Shops, located right inside the Planet Hollywood complex. This location became the perfect starting point for our toy shopping spree.

Our route consisted of two completely different but equally exciting stores: the ultra-modern Pop Mart and the cozy, nostalgia-filled Fantasy Land. This is a story about how much modern trendy toys cost, how the magic of blind boxes works, and why adults find it just as interesting here as kids do.

The Magic of Blind Boxes at Pop Mart

The moment we stepped into Pop Mart, we were greeted by the atmosphere of a modern art gallery. Metallic decor elements, bright, almost studio-like lighting, and perfectly aligned display rows create the impression that you aren’t just buying toys, but actual works of art. My child immediately pulled me toward the central shelf, where the long-awaited “The Monsters” series by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung was showcased.

This is where Labubu lives—a long-eared monster with a mischievous grin that collectors all over the world are hunting for. Pop Mart specializes in the Pop Mart blind box format. You buy a sealed box and, until the very last moment, you don’t know which specific figure from the collection you’ll get this time. This element of surprise turns an ordinary purchase into a moment of risk and excitement, which fits perfectly with the spirit of Las Vegas.

The pricing in the store is quite straightforward. Standard small figures from popular series will run you $27.99 each. If you are looking for something larger for home decor, big collectible figures cost around $114.00. Besides Labubu, the shelves are bursting with other famous series.

We spent a long time looking at the Crybaby collection—figures of girls with oversized tears in their eyes, executed in incredibly aesthetic pastel colors. Nearby were the detailed Skullpanda, the cute Molly, as well as the melancholic Hirono and the fairytale-like Dimoo.

All these Vinyl Figures are made with impressive attention to detail. These are true Collectibles, bought not just for kids’ games but to decorate the desks of serious office workers. We picked out a few boxes from The Monsters Forest Secret and Skullpanda The Sound series, deciding to unbox them back in our hotel room.

Anime and Classics at Fantasy Land

After making our purchases at Pop Mart, we walked a bit further through the galleries of the Miracle Mile Shops and stumbled upon Fantasy Land. While the previous store felt like a futuristic exhibition, this space turned out to be a true paradise for fans of classic pop culture, anime, board games and DIY kits.

A wall completely filled with Pokémon plushies immediately caught my child’s attention. From the classic yellow Pikachu to a giant Snorlax and a funny Psyduck—the selection here is massive. These are exactly the kind of kawaii toys you want to hug after a long day of walking the city.

For older fans, Fantasy Land offers stunning displays of anime figures. Dynamic poses of Goku and Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z, heroes from One Piece, Naruto, and characters from the hit Demon Slayer are all displayed in their full glory. The detailing on these figures is striking, and they perfectly complement the store’s assortment. My child also quickly found a stand with Pokémon TCG (Trading Card Game) packs, which are a must-have for any young card collector.

While the kid was busy picking out cards, I noticed the shelves featuring adult hobby items. I was impressed by the DIY Book Nooks and model kits from the brand Rolife. These miniature dioramas, like the wooden “Sailing Memory” model, are hand-assembled and placed between books on a shelf, creating the illusion of a tiny magical world. The wooden mechanical models and 3D puzzles were a real discovery for me, reminding me that the joy of creating something with your own hands has no age limit.

Why are Asian vinyl toys taking over America?

Asian vinyl toys are rapidly taking over the American market, and the reason for this lies not only in their aesthetics, but also in the new experience and emotions they give. The blind box format turns every purchase into a small adventure, where the element of surprise and the factor of rarity fascinate both children and adult collectors. The sophistication of the design, the creativity of the artists and the wide variety of characters make these toys true art in miniature. That is why brands such as Pop Mart are rapidly growing in popularity in the USA.
