Billie Eilish Live 2025: My Experience at the ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’ Tour in Phoenix

There are concerts where you go just to listen to the music, and there are events that change your perception of the artist. On November 19, 2025, just such a show took place in Phoenix.

It was a special evening. First, it was the second concert in a row at the Mortgage Matchup Center (formerly PHX Arena). Second, and most importantly, with this performance, Billie Eilish effectively closed the North American leg of her “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT” tour. The feeling of finality hung in the air – a mixture of euphoria and slight sadness that this chapter is coming to an end.

Opening act: Indie melancholy and anticipation

The evening was opened by Lucy Dacus. Her choice of opening act turned out to be a 100% hit. Lucy’s deep, slightly melancholic indie rock perfectly set the audience on the right wave – the emotional, sincere, “soft” part of the evening.

The audience that night was a separate art form. The fans had prepared seriously: bandanas, ties (the signature style of the Hit Me Hard and Soft era) and a lot of merch. The energy in the hall was pulsating even before the lights went out. We were all waiting for it.

Visual Magic: Beyond Reality

When the show began, it became clear: this was not just a stage, this was a large-scale art installation. The stage was located in the center of the arena, providing a 360-degree view. But the main attraction was the structure above it – translucent screens and light cubes that created the illusion of an otherworldly world.

The laser show was impeccable. At one point, the beams of light literally created a new architecture above us, turning the huge sports arena into an intimate, yet futuristic space.

Digital projections appeared on the screens, synchronized with the music. One moment it was glitch effects, the next it was Billy’s huge face, seemingly watching each of us.

HIT ME HARD: Fire and Chaos

The title of the tour was not a lie. The “Hard” part hit us with all its might. Billie started off strong with the tracks “CHIHIRO” and “LUNCH”, and the hall exploded. But the real chaos began later.

When the first beats of “Guess” (a track featuring Charli XCX) and “Oxytocin” began, the atmosphere changed instantly. The lighting switched to an aggressive red spectrum. The energy was crazy – Billie literally “flew” the stage, and at some point appeared on a separate platform on the side, making the crowd go crazy.

The pyrotechnics added heat in the literal sense of the word. Looking at the stage engulfed in flames, you could physically feel this drive.

The visuals on the screens at these moments were appropriate – sharp, bright, provocative.

The real climax of this “hard” part was the performance against the background of live fire. It looked like a scene from an action movie, where the main character emerges victorious from the epicenter of the explosion.

HIT ME SOFT: Ocean of flashlights and silence

But Billie Eilish is a master of contrasts. After “hell”, she took us to “heaven”. The most emotional moment of the evening was the performance of “WILDFLOWER”.

At some point, Billie asked for complete silence. And imagine: the multi-thousand-strong arena froze. Sitting in the middle of the stage in the semi-darkness, she began to record her voice on a loop pedal, layer by layer adding harmonies for the intro “when the party’s over”. It was so intimate that it seemed as if she were singing in her room, not in a stadium.

And then there was a moment of unity: thousands of flashlights during the performance of the ballad turned the hall into an ocean.

When “WILDFLOWER” began to sound, the entire hall, as if on command, took out their phones. The arena turned into a starry sky.

The set design supported this mood with cool blue tones and a digital aesthetic that reminded of loneliness in the big world.

Performance and Intimacy

Even when she was just a projection on the screen, the connection with the audience was unbroken. The jazz cover of “I’m In The Mood For Love” and the track “SKINNY” were especially memorable. These were moments of pure vocals and emotion, when technology faded into the background, highlighting only her talent.

Grand finale: Happier Than Ever

The end of the concert was exactly what a grand tour finale should be. The connection with “What Was I Made For?”, the tear-jerking “Happier Than Ever” (where Billie traditionally gave rock on guitar) and the final “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” became an emotional catharsis.

Hands up! The final chord under a rain of confetti.

As the final chords of “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” sounded, the arena exploded with white confetti. It looked like it was snowing. People were crying, laughing, hugging.

On the screen we saw a smiling Billy, thanking Phoenix for this incredible reception.

Lifehack: Where to Get Tickets (and How to Save)

I’m often asked where I get tickets for such large-scale events, because official sales often end in a matter of minutes. I always buy online and have two trusted sites: TicketNetwork and Ticket Liquidator.

Why them? First, there are almost always tickets there (even when everything is sold out). Second, there are real discounts that help save money (for example, to buy more merch at the concert!).

TicketNetwork: Here you can often find discounts of up to 20% or coupons like $50 Off Order $250+. This is very profitable if you go with a group.

Ticket Liquidator: If you, like me, love concerts and go often, here you can get 15% off for your next order.

It’s always nice to save a couple of dollars on a ticket, and then spend them on merch or a cocktail at the arena!

The tour is over. What’s next?

Sad news for anyone who missed it: the tour has officially ended on November 23, 2025. The official website currently shows “no upcoming events” and no new dates have been announced yet.

But if you miss Billie’s music as much as I do, I have an interesting find!

On February 15, 2026 (at 3:00 PM), a unique event will take place: Vitamin String Quartet: The Music of Billie Eilish, Bridgerton and Beyond. The concert will take place at the Sunset Center Theater in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.

What is it? This is not a performance by Billie herself, but it is something very aesthetic. Vitamin String Quartet is a famous string ensemble that does classic covers of modern hits (you’ve definitely heard them on the Bridgerton TV series!).

This is a great opportunity to hear Billy’s favorite hits (“Bad Guy”, “Lovely”, maybe something new from the latest album) in an exquisite orchestral arrangement. Tickets are quite affordable (up to $100), and the atmosphere promises to be magical. For fans who love aesthetics and new sounds of familiar melodies – this is a must visit.

The “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT” tour is over, but the music remains with us – in headphones, in the heart and even in the performance of string orchestras.
